STRATHISLA

Bottled by samaroli, distilled in 1967, 57%.

Aroma : Rich caramel, mitarashi (skewered rice dumplings in a sweet soy glaze:Japanese food), soy source, little smell of alcohol.
Palate : Rich caramel, rich prune.mitarash.

Today, it is 16th anniversary day of this bar. In this bar, we can drink great whisky everyday but today is special day. I could have five samaroli bottles. Thanks and congratulations on your 16th anniversay day!

香りはとても濃いカラメル、みたらし、醤油。アルコール感はほぼ感じない。
飲むと一口目はあまりアルコールを感じず、三口目からアルコールのピリピリ感がやってきた。とても濃いカラメル、プルーン。
乾いたグラスは黒糖風味のバニラクリーム。

LONGROW

Bottled by samaroli, 49(maybe)%.

Aroma : Heavy peat but no stimulation and elegant.
Palate : I could not read alcohol volume by label bu I heard 49%. Maybe, wataer added type but spread of sea spray and umami was very good as if this was cask strengh type. Wonderful best balance of peat, iodine, umami and briny taste.

香りは、ピートは強いが刺激はなく上品。
飲むとけっこうびりびりパンチはある。アルコール度数はラベルからはわからず、マスターから49度とだけ聞いて、たぶん加水だと思うが旨み、潮っ気の広がり方が素晴らしい。ピートとヨード感の程よさ、バランスの素晴らしさ。ブリニータイプの素晴らしいスプリングバンクっぽさも感じられた。
聞く話によると、これはマスターが手に入れる前はワイン庫に入っており、ラベルがボロボロになったのでは？ということでした。ラベルはボロボロだけど、味の状態は素晴らしく、そういわれるとそうかも。

Aroma : Sherry, prune, caramel and soy source.
Palate : Dense brown sugar, caramel and soy source. When I added watar, I felt coffee.

香りはシェリー、プルーン、カラメル、醤油。
飲むと度数の割にパンチがある。かなり濃い黒糖、カラメル、みたらし、醤油。加水するとコーヒー。
乾いたグラスは黒糖、カラメル、醤油。

CAOLILA
Bottled by samarori, distilled in 1977, 46%.

Aroma : Elegant peat, iodine, sea spray, and barley. Best balance.
Palate : Elegant and umami flavored peat, iodine, barley. Best balance.
It was very complecated and elegant caol ila being different from the present caol ila. It was very similar to port ellen. Maybe it was hard to distinguish.

香りは上品なピート、ヨード、潮っけ、麦、すべてがベストバランス。
味は上品な旨みのある甘味、ヨード、麦、出汁のベストバランス。
味がわかるようになってからは現行のカリラしか飲んだことがなく、飲んでみたいとずっと思っていたカリラです。話に聞くとブラインドだとポートエレンと見分けるのはかなり難しいといわれてまして、飲んでみると確かにポートエレンに似てる。いろいろと感動した日でした。

香りはまろやかな黒糖、サトウキビ。
飲むと少しとろっとしたテクスチャーで、スパイシーだが柔らかい。黒糖、途切れることのない厚み。
グラスは黒糖、クリーム。

飲むと渋み、旨みのあるパイナップル、ボディは厚い。

Aroma : Iodine, banana.
Palata : Iodine, dashi, barley. Good punch as I expect for manager's choice series but not manager's choice having vivid edge. I felt fire works it explode and spread out.

香りはヨード、バナナ。
味は、パンチは想像通りのマネージャーズチョイスだが、エッジのはっきりしたマネチョではなく、花火のようにパンとはじけて散る感じ。ヨード、出汁、麦。

香りはウッディで、植物感の中にメロン、リンゴ、トロピカル要素も。
味は、口当たりはマイルドで、とても甘いバニラ、紙っぽさ、少しトロピカル。

香りはライト、柑橘系の香りとピート、ヨードでマイルドなラフロイグのイメージ。
飲むとパンチがあり、ヨードの効いたグレープフルーツ、雑味がなく、クリアな味わい。グッド。

香りはアルコールが強い、ツンとした中にシェリー、甘い香り。
飲むとプルーン、シェリー、でも少しボディが薄い。かなりピリピリくる。

味はパイナップル、少しトロピカル系のフルーツもあるが、少しボディが薄目でアルコールの強さで補う感じ。
乾いたグラスは少しトロピカルなピーテッドパイナップル。

飲むと少しのアルコール感の強さ、やはり少し薄く、アルコール感が支える感じ。メロン。

香りは濃厚エステリー、濃い完熟メロン、バニラ、有機溶剤。
飲むとピリピリ、濃厚エステリー、最初はメロン、後からリンゴ、渋み。飲み終わると口の中が油コーティングされるみたい。
グラスは濃厚クリーム。

香りは濃厚エステリー、深く吸い込むとアルコールがツンとくる。
飲むとパンチはそこそこ、濃厚エステリーフルーツ、濃すぎてよくわからん（笑）。加水してもなお濃厚。

Bottled by Moon Import, "THE COSTUMES"series, distilledin 1966, bottled in 1988, bottle No.30,matured in hogshead No.2573, 46%。

香りはウッディ、スパイシー、フルーティー。
味は全体がはちみつというか蝋に包まれていて、リッチ、高貴な甘さ、ふくよかで柔らかなシェリー、オイリー、エステリー。
乾いたグラスはワクシー。

後日またタイムリーにキンチーを飲む機会がありましたが、その際にこのボトルのすごさを改めて再認識させられました。それほどまでに素晴らしいボトルです。
